Bigfoot Sighting Report #31

Town: Bloomingdale
County: Passaic
Type of Encounter: Sounds heard
Sighted on Aug 15, 1979  4:00PM
Nearest Road: Star Lake
Weather Conditions: bright

Sighting Details:
Returning from fishing at star lake, while returning home on the camp road about 300 yards from the gate two deer bolt out of the woods and cross to the woods on the other side. Immediately thereafter something was stomping on the ground loudly, it was coming from the area the deer ran from.

This stomping sounded like it was something heavy on two feet. After about four seconds the stomping stopped and something let out a roar similiar to a lion that was about 60 feet away. At this point I broke out into a full sprint through the gate into the local neighborhood. I was not alone my brother and a neighbor were present.

To this day my brother and I agree we heard the same thing. Bigfoot I don't know, I am only posting this report after reading the two reports from weaver road which is only 3 miles north. It basically is the southern end of the same woods.

During a follow-up inquiry the witness elaborated on the report:

In describing the roar it was something I never heard before or since, it's volumne was incredible. The stomping sounded like someone hitting a sledge hammer at the base of a hollow tree. It wasn't a bear, I'm famliar with them, I've seen and heard enough of them, also in 1979 there wasn't any bear in the area like now.

One other note, the deer jumped clear across the camp road and seemed like they were running for thier lives.

More inquiries will be made and an update will be added to this report soon.
