Bigfoot Sighting Report #23

Town: Cranbury
County: Middlesex
Type of Encounter: Sounds heard
Sighted on Jul 5, 2000  10:15PM
Nearest Road: Cranbury
Weather Conditions: clear

Sighting Details:
A man, his wife and children hear screaming noises from a section of woods as they drive home from a fireworks display. Witness claims sounds were too loud to be made by a human, cannot identify source of sound. The sounds lasted 4 to 5 seconds, and resembled the sound of a screaming woman. So much so that the witness actually thought someone might be in distress, being attacked, so he exited the car with his son's baseball bat and shouted toward the sounds. They falter, then stopped when he shouted again.

On a later date, the witness and his wife drove back to the area and noticed a strong acrid "skunky" smell that wafted and vanished. The witness could see no source for the foul odor, no animal carcass. The wind was light, so if the smell originated from a carcass it seems unlikely that it would dissipate so quickly.

The couple found a track which resembled a depression that might be made by a foot. The track measured 15 inches long, 7 inches across the ball and 4 inches at the heel. No toe prints could be seen as recent rain has washed out any details.
