Sighting Details:
I just discovered your website, so this is an old encounter that took place in the middle of winter about 1987. That night there was significant snow on the ground from the day before and we lived next door to a family that owned a large german shepherd who was kept outside on a chain. This dog was extremely mean and nobody could go near it except the owner, which was why it was kept on a thick chain.

The dog started barking very loudly and woke us all up that night, which was unusual because it didn't bark very often (usually just growled if anyone came near). That night it barked for about 10 min. or so, then followed by yelping and crying that sounded like it was being hurt. My parents woke up and we listened to what sounded like the dog being dragged away while yelping, up the pipeline behind our house. There was a swamp right there too.

The next morning, nobody could find the dog, just a broken chain which no person could have ripped apart. Right under my window (ranch house, one floor) there were huge footprints that looked like the kind you see in Bigfoot sightings on TV or in pictures. We figured they were just under 2 feet long, and in the snow, you could see the toes so it looked human. It must have looked right into our window, which was right in the dog's view, on the other side of our driveway.
