Bigfoot Sighting Report #116

Town: Manahawkin
County: Ocean
Type of Encounter: Sounds heard
Sighted on Mar 1, 2009  3:00PM
Nearest Road: Oxycocus
Weather Conditions: clear

Sighting Details:
My husband and I were walking our beagle along a swampy area in the wildlife preserve behind our neighborhood. Some distance ahead, a heron was perched on a dead tree and issueing an extream distress call, flapping madly...never seen one react that way, and we were still a ways away...when we reached that area my husband mentioned noticing an awful smell, and the beagle, very excited, went nuts trying to pull us into a vast wooded area off the path. I impulsively picked up a fallen branch and resoundingly wacked a tree 3 times- immediatly there was one clear knock in return from deep in the woods! Later that night on the front porch my husband and I heard distant screams from the woods- they sounded like screams of playing chldren, but spaced apart in a way so they didn't quite. It was weird.
