Bigfoot Sighting Report #56

Town: Wantage, Wallpack Inn
County: Sussex
Type of Encounter: Sounds heard
Sighted on Jun 15, 1977  4:00PM
Nearest Road: dirt road
Weather Conditions: bright

Sighting Details:
A bunch of us guys hiked the trails, including the Appalachian Trail above Buttermilk Falls (in the Tocks Island condemned-land area).

Following a break, we headed back down the trail. For whatever reason, I was last in line, and had left some space between myself and the next ahead of me. The rest had already passed through a sunny clearing when I heard off to my left a big pair of lungs working [I am a musician, & work with singers, so would be a good judge], and the sound of a large rock dropped on the other side of a fire trail.

I went over (am I CRAZY??? - but, it was a bright sunny day) to check it out. Nothing behind the bushes. But there was a large rock, about 15 x 24 inches, sitting on another, in the vicinity of where the sound came from. I caught up with the rest of them real quick.

Follow-up:

Discrepancies:

Contrary to what this report states, Tocks Island dam area is about 15 miles from the Walpack Inn, and Wantage is about another 25 miles or so beyond that. One area is not near enough to the other to be used as a relative location.
